Megan’s journey into the world of interior design began long before she ever picked up a paintbrush or chose a fabric swatch. Her mother had a peculiar habit of buying houses, meticulously decorating each one to perfection, and then moving on to the next with the thrill of a new project. One of her most cherished memories was her tenth birthday. Her bedroom, which had once been a simple yellow-painted space adorned with a Holly Hobby bedspread, underwent a dramatic transformation while she was away for the weekend. When she returned, she entered a rainbow-infused wonderland. Her mother had completely revamped the room, painting vivid rainbows on the walls and transforming it into a dazzling escape that felt as if it had sprung straight from the pages of a design magazine. That moment ignited something inside Megan—she realized she loved the idea of changing spaces and creating environments that could make people feel joy.
However, after high school, Megan didn’t immediately dive into the world of design. Instead, she chased a different dream: filmmaking. She secured a role in the ambitious world of Hollywood, working alongside the legendary Steven Spielberg. For nearly a decade, she thought she would become a film producer, but her life’s script took an unexpected turn with the advent of the internet. A wave of excitement swept through the tech world, and Megan found herself pivoting to a new adventure as part of Spielberg’s internet company, pop.com—a precursor to platforms like YouTube.
But just as swiftly as the internet gold rush began, it ended, leading to Megan’s brief foray into modeling. A chance encounter with a modeling scout prompted her to head to New York, where she signed with Ford Models. It was an unexpected chapter, yet it was only the beginning of her creative evolution.
In a serendipitous twist, Megan transitioned from the runways of New York back to her roots in design when she began working as a personal assistant to actress Beverly D’Angelo, who had just welcomed twins. Beverly’s passion for design reignited Megan’s own dormant love for decorating. Together, they embarked on wild home projects, from constructing ponds in the backyard to fabric-walling rooms with eclectic designs. Their collaboration felt almost instinctual; it was as if Megan had stepped into her calling, even if she didn’t fully realize it yet.
